There are many roles available for volunteers:​

• Steward – responsible for safety and security in the building. During the day stewards meet and greet visitors to the centre and direct them to their relevant destinations. Stewards may also help with setting up tables and chairs. Evening stewards are responsible for locking up the building once everyone has gone home.

• Children Activity Volunteer – helping with a variety of children’s events and activities either weekly or on an ad hoc basis.

​

• Outreach volunteer – we work with a number of care homes and assisted living facilities in Caerphilly. Outreach volunteers use their special skills or interests to run activities at these facilities for the residents.

​

• Events volunteer – help our events team plan, organise and execute a variety of events at the centre. Great experience for anyone wishing to work in the events industry.

​

• Catering volunteer – help with a variety of catering events at the centre including buffets, business breakfasts and afternoon teas. Interested volunteers are also welcome to help with the planning and ordering of catering supplies if they wish to gain experience in all aspects of catering.

​

• Activity Lead Volunteers – we are always interested in hearing from people who have a specialist skill or interest that they wish to share with others. We have had interest from people wishing to learn about genealogy and join a book club but we are open to all ideas.
