I'm Sophie, the Business Manager. My role is to apply for grants and funding streams to continue our various projects and to develop the commercial aspects of the centre. I also work with the Karina the Centre Manager to manage the day to finances and running of the building.

As the Centre Manager at Caerphilly Miners Centre, I am responsible for overseeing the daily operations and ensuring our community hub remains a vibrant, welcoming space for all. I work closely with staff, volunteers, and local organisations to develop and support a wide range of activities, events, and services that benefit the community.

I am responsible for ensuring that youth project activities achieve their full potential, where I support staff and volunteers. I enhance project outcomes through partnership working and support funding applications. I identify volunteer opportunities and liaise with the volunteer coordinator. I also organise fund raising events for the centre. 

I support and develop our amazing team of volunteers. I help connect people with rewarding opportunities to contribute their time, skills, and enthusiasm to our community projects and events. As the Marketing Officer at Caerphilly Miners Centre, I design engaging visuals, manage digital communication strategies, and lead promotional campaigns to enhance awareness and community engagement. I also oversee event promotions, ensuring maximum visibility and participation. As a Welsh speaker, I’m passionate about promoting bilingual communication and inclusivity.

As the Room Hire Officer at Caerphilly Miners Centre, I am responsible for managing room bookings for events, meetings, and activities within the centre. I help individuals, community groups, and businesses find the right space for their needs, ensuring a smooth and efficient booking process. Whether you're planning a workshop, class, or special event, I am here to assist you in making the most of our welcoming and well-equipped spaces.

As the Older Men's Activity Coordinator at Caerphilly Miners Centre, I focus on outreach and engagement, promoting activities that support older men in our community. I work closely with the Men's Shed group, encouraging social connections, skill-sharing, and well-being through a range of activities and events.

I am responsible for maintaining impeccable cleanliness in all areas, including floors, surfaces, restrooms and café and kitchen areas. This includes dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and window cleaning. I’m a happy face around the centre but always staying professional, always help to help in different tasks and duties around the centre when required to do so. I always ensure that all assigned areas are cleaned to the highest standards. I adhere to all health and safety guidelines and COSHH policies.
